Terrie Wixon Gibbs trained as an interior designer at the Inchbald School of Design, graduating with distinction, before working many years as a set designer for film. She returned to interior design in the 90s and has been steadily building her practise since then.

Terrie is credited in all her work in the ability to recognise that everyone is different and everyone’s house is different. She always looks for ‘the intriguing balance between the client and the architecture of the house’

Terrie believes in making ‘interiors come alive and her inspiration comes from a grounded feeling that ‘good design will never age’ Her passion extends to the garden as she says ‘the connectivity between the two relationships of outside and in must be respected as the landscape is just as important as the interiors’.

She draws a lot of her experience from her previous background in film and here she worked her way up from tea girl to Art Director. She says that the film industry taught me the importance of needing to pluck talent and then push their boundaries, I now consider my own team at Wixon Gibbs to be my paint palette’.

Wixon Gibbs established in 1999 offers a service that can only be summarized as bespoke fashion tailoring to all aspects of interior and garden design world. Terrie well known for her dramatic use of colour, love of texture and a critical eye to detail is described by her contemporary’s ‘as passionate with an individuality that can only be described as modern stately home’.
